Even though I know there are studies that say too much working out can prevent you from getting pregnant, I don't think that was the case with us. During the past 3 years that we've been trying - there have been many months when I was pretty lazy on the working out front and we still didn't get a baby. Plus, I think those articles are referring to people with no body fat or people that are doing extreme workouts that make their bodies miss periods. Throughout my P90X workout program, my periods stayed regular. Watching an episode of the reality show "Bill & Giuliana" also made me reason another reason why I stuck to it. Through all of our infertility struggles, things seem a little out of our control. But P90X was something that I could control and work to achieve. And overall I think it was a good thing for me to focus on and to keep my stress levels down.
However, tonight was my last class at the YMCA for awhile. I'm going to take it easy over the next couple of weeks to be on the safe side. On Saturday I'll start the stimulation medications and I'm not sure how my body will react, so I didn't want to have to worry about teaching my class on Tuesday night. And I know that I'll definitely have to take it easy after the egg retrieval and embryo transfer. Kinda ironic that most people are ramping up their workout plans this month and mine is winding to a close. Without my daily workouts I will have plenty of time to catch up on our DVR'd shows, Netflix movies, my scrapbooking, and hopefully some baby making!
We're still doing the Lupron shots every morning. I have a little bruise on my belly from one of the injections - but it doesn't hurt or anything. I took my last birth control pill on Sunday, I guess my period may show up this week. But my husband put a good spin on this one by saying, "This is a period we can be happy about." It's all part of the IVF process!
